That summer feeling,
not just physical, but mental.
The memories of summers past create that feeling.

For me, summer is going in a pick-up truck to a country fair in late August,
The smell of animals: horses, sheep, pigs, goats and many more.
The sensation of riding on the Ferris wheel while the sun sets, looking across the fair grounds at home.
And the sugary delights! Lemonade slushys, ice cream and cotton candy, resulting in sticky hands and blue and pink smiles.

The long ride home in the blue cool evening air, dozing with your head on your sister's shoulder.
And then home at last, you crawl beneath soft covers and dream about next year's fair.

This is summer to me.
